Jazz guitar luminary Mike Stern has released his latest album, ‘Echoes and Other Songs,’ in 2024, marking his debut with Mack Avenue Music Group/Artistry Music. This highly anticipated project marks a significant chapter in Stern’s illustrious career, showcasing his continued artistry alongside an impressive roster of collaborators.

The album boasts a star-studded lineup of jazz titans, including Christian McBride, Chris Potter, Antonio Sanchez, Richard Bona, Dennis Chambers, Bob Franceschini, Arto Tunçboyacian, and his wife, Leni Stern. ‘Echoes and Other Songs’ was produced by the esteemed Jim Beard, standing as one of his final projects before his passing in March 2024, adding a poignant layer to the album’s release.

This new work emerges after a period of personal adversity for Stern. He has navigated ongoing physical challenges stemming from a 2016 injury, the closure of his long-cherished venue 55 Bar, and the profound loss of his esteemed producer and collaborator, Jim Beard. The album’s arrival speaks to Stern’s enduring dedication to his craft during these times.

Looking ahead, Stern is set for a major cultural event: his involvement in the ‘We Want Miles: The 2026 Reunion Tour.’ This tour will celebrate the centennial of jazz icon Miles Davis, bringing together several original Miles Davis bandmates. Stern will be featured on guitar, joined by Marcus Miller on electric bass and bass clarinet, Bill Evans on tenor saxophone, and Mino Cinelu on percussion.

Beyond the centennial celebration, Mike Stern also has an active touring schedule planned for late 2025 and 2026, with performances slated across Europe, Australia, and the USA. Notably, his Australian tour in February 2025 is specifically in support of his new album, ‘Echoes and Other Songs,’ giving fans a direct opportunity to experience his latest work live.
