Kacey Musgraves has expanded her presence in the lifestyle sector with the launch of ‘Drought Drops,’ a new limited-edition personal lubricant. This venture is a collaboration with women’s wellness brand Medicine Mama.
The product is a water-based lubricant and vaginal moisturizer. Its name, ‘Drought Drops,’ is derived from Musgraves’ single ‘Dry Spell’ and her album ‘Middle of Nowhere,’ both of which explore themes of sexual frustration and self-discovery. ‘Drought Drops’ is presented as a specially branded version of Medicine Mama’s existing ‘Intimate Glide’ lubricant.
The formulation for ‘Drought Drops’ includes organic aloe and a blend of other ingredients such as tremella mushroom extract, hyaluronic acid, quinoa seed extract, hemp seed extract, flaxseed, and green tea. The lubricant is designed to be pH-balanced and is compatible with latex condoms. It is also free from hormones, phthalates, parabens, fragrance, petroleum, dyes, and soy.
Following its initial release, ‘Drought Drops’ sold out quickly. The next shipment for the product is anticipated on September 1st. The packaging features an eggplant-colored bottle and comes with a Kacey Musgraves-themed sticker sheet.
Musgraves’ motivation behind this launch aligns with a broader message of destigmatizing intimate wellness and encouraging more open and humorous conversations around personal topics. This is not Musgraves’ first venture into sensual lifestyle products, as she previously partnered with Boy Smells for a ‘Deeper Well’ candle.
