For makeup visionary Pat McGrath, beauty and jewelry share an identical creative instinct. Both disciplines operate on the principles of body ornamentation, personal expression, and optical transformation. Yet while backstage cosmetics are ephemeral by nature, washing away when the night ends, jewelry offers a way to capture those runway expressions permanently.
That conceptual bridge serves as the foundation for McGrath’s new 17-piece capsule collection with Pandora, developed in direct collaboration with the brand’s creative directors, Francesco Terzo and Alessandro Filippo Ficarelli. Announced in late September 2026 and scheduled to launch on October 8, the partnership bypasses conventional brand licensing in favor of a shared design dialogue centered on technical craftsmanship and color as a transformative medium.
To translate McGrath’s signature aesthetic into metal and stone, the designers looked directly to her most celebrated runway moments. The collection’s core palette draws from the liquid-gold lips of Prada Spring/Summer 2016, crystal-encrusted editorial faces, and the saturated hues of her debut Pat McGrath Labs formulations, including Gold 001. Deep grape tones, gemstone reds, and mirror-bright gold define the pieces. Rather than relying on flat enamels or static mountings, Pandora’s team pushed materials to mimic the optical depth, surface tension, and light dispersion of wet-look gloss and pure cosmetic pigments on skin. Achieving these finishes required a mix of diamond-point texturing, sandblasting, and high-shine gold and silver plating.
These tactile techniques bring life to a suite of unmistakable motifs. McGrath’s hallmark glossy lip acts as the capsule’s primary visual anchor, appearing in lip-shaped signet rings and dangle charms framing pavé crystal hearts. Select lip charms feature a two-tiered construction, concealing an ombré enamel heart inside a sculpted metal frame. Elsewhere, the energy of the fashion week backstage is crystallized literally: a miniature metallic paint tube is caught mid-squeeze, with a sculpted ribbon of crystal-studded pigment spilling out as both an earring and a dangle charm. Other pieces include miniature lipstick and lip gloss charms, a sculpted hand with a lacquered red manicure cradling a rounded heart, and a talismanic eye reimagined as an emblem of creative intuition.
Craftsmanship echoes makeup artistry across the collection’s showpieces. An anatomical heart pendant blends blood-red enamel and pavé crystals that fade into blush pink and white stone veins, complete with McGrath’s runway refrain, “Gorgeous,” engraved on the reverse above a single red gemstone. Substantial medallions, including the Mother of Beauty Medallion and the Beauty Mantra Medallion, border clusters of pink and crimson stones with her backstage idioms: “Stunning my love,” “Divine,” “Gorgeous,” and “Beyond.”
At a structural level, the collaboration aligns McGrath’s beauty methodology with Pandora’s modular format. Just as McGrath builds editorial beauty by layering primer, base, saturated pigment, glitter, and gloss, the collection encourages wearers to stack and combine pieces across varying metal tones and formats. Each of the 17 designs, which range from $58 to $250 (or £35 to £190), is proportioned to integrate seamlessly with Pandora’s link chains, snake chain bracelets, and charm earrings, functioning equally well as isolated statement pieces or dense, layered arrangements.
