Ralph Lauren Unveils Spring/Summer 2027 Collection with an Intimate Manhattan Runway and a Star-Packed Front Row

3–4 minutes

Ralph Lauren opened the Spring/Summer 2027 New York Fashion Week presentation on the evening of Wednesday, September 9, 2026, choosing an intimate, off-calendar setting at the Jack Shainman Gallery in downtown Manhattan. The presentation, reported by Associated Press newsgathering producer Beatrice Dupuy with contributions from Brooke Lefferts, highlighted the American designer’s romantic silhouettes alongside an illustrious guest list.

The gallery was transformed into a minimalist white space with ivory fabric-upholstered benches and clean white doors from which models emerged. Stepping out to a soundtrack of classic romantic love songs anchored by The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” the collection delivered a color story centered on crisp whites and deep navy blues, enriched by pearlescent pinks, gold patinas, and chocolate browns. Ralph Lauren noted in his show notes that the collection serves as an irreverent take on romance that upends traditional notions of chic while celebrating ingenuity, character, and originality. David Lauren, Chief Branding and Innovation Officer for Ralph Lauren Corp., described the designer’s direction by stating that Ralph Lauren is writing through his clothes about a modern dream this year.

On the runway, masculine tailoring was juxtaposed against fluid feminine silhouettes. Looks included cotton jacquard tie-back corset tops, low-slung tailored white trousers, pinstripe suits, and floor-length overcoats. Distinct styling combinations emerged throughout the show, pairing low-slung distressed denim with slim-cut jackets and layering a gold-fringed evening tunic gown over navy tailored trousers. Accessories featured oversized floral fabric brooches, feathered bolero wraps, fringed scarves, wide-brimmed straw hats, flat slipper mules, and minimalist heels.

The front row assembled an array of Hollywood actors, international talent, and fashion dignitaries. Among the attendees was an informal on-screen reunion of Steve McQueen’s 2018 film Widows, with co-stars Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, and Elizabeth Debicki seated together. Davis, attending alongside her husband and producing partner Julius Tennon, wore a sleeveless charcoal-grey cable knit vest paired with wide-leg chocolate-brown leather culottes and knee-high leather boots. Erivo wore an all-black military-inspired tailored jacket featuring red accents at the collar and cuffs, styled with trousers and a Ralph Lauren beret. Debicki opted for an olive menswear-inspired three-piece Ralph Lauren ensemble featuring relaxed trousers, a collared shirt, a tie, and an olive trench coat.

Other notable attendees included Meghann Fahy, who wore a monochromatic chocolate-brown leather coat and trousers over a chunky tonal turtleneck, and Ariana DeBose, who combined a ribbed knit dress with an oversized black leather coat and brown leather accessories. DeBose told the AP that she appreciates being able to grow with Ralph Lauren as her styles and tastes change. Rachel Brosnahan wore an equestrian- and Western-inflected ensemble in layered brown leather and suede, while Eiza González selected a brown leather corset-style vest with tailored trousers. Ella Hunt, dressed in Ralph Lauren tailoring, told the AP that Ralph Lauren generally designs beautifully for a woman’s body. Laetitia Casta appeared in a chocolate-brown leather bustier paired with tailored grey trousers, and Amélie Hoeferle made her NYFW front row debut wearing a minimalist black knee-length dress, pointed-toe pumps, and a leather clutch.

Global screen talent in attendance also featured South Korean actress Jeon Yeo-been, Chinese cinema star Gao Yuanyuan, and Thai actress-singer Plearnpichaya Komalarajun. Vogue Global Editorial Director and Condé Nast Chief Content Officer Anna Wintour was seated in the front row, as was Ralph Lauren’s wife, Ricky Lauren—the brand’s muse and namesake of the Ricky Bag—alongside other members of the Lauren family.

At the presentation’s conclusion, 86-year-old Ralph Lauren stepped out wearing aviator sunglasses and a New York Yankees varsity jacket. He kissed his wife Ricky to a standing ovation from the audience.

The presentation marked Lauren’s third showcase at the Jack Shainman Gallery, following his Fall/Winter 2026 show held there in February 2026, which featured Gigi Hadid on the runway and a front row that included Anne Hathaway, Lana Del Rey, Lili Reinhart, Joan Smalls, and Anna Wintour. It also follows a series of high-profile Ralph Lauren presentations across New York in recent years, including the Spring/Summer 2026 show at 650 Madison Avenue, the Spring/Summer 2025 presentation at Khalily Stables in Bridgehampton, the Spring/Summer 2024 show at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and the brand’s 50th Anniversary Gala at Central Park’s Bethesda Terrace in September 2018.
