On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, American fashion designer Ralph Lauren debuted his Spring/Summer 2027 ready-to-wear womenswear collection at the Jack Shainman Gallery in downtown Manhattan. The presentation served as an unofficial kickoff immediately ahead of the formal start of New York Fashion Week.
Departing from the lavish decor seen in previous shows, Lauren embraced a minimalist, stark white aesthetic. Attendees were seated along rows of ivory fabric benches as models stepped onto the runway through clean white doors. The runway was set to classic love ballads, prominently featuring “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by The Police.
Longtime Vogue global editorial director Anna Wintour was in attendance for the showcase. Also in the front row was Viola Davis, who wore a sleeveless charcoal-grey knit paired with wide-leg brown leather culottes and knee-high boots, while Meghann Fahy sat in the front row in a neutral-toned ensemble.
Tailoring was a central highlight among the attendees. Cynthia Erivo arrived in a military-inspired officer’s jacket accented with scarlet trim, styled with black trousers and a black beret. Elizabeth Debicki wore a tailored monochrome beige ensemble featuring a button-down shirt, necktie, trousers, and trench coat. Ella Hunt, who also attended the presentation, provided commentary praising the designer’s tailoring.
